Open Insurance

There is no uniform definition of open insurance. For us open insurance is in the broadest sense covering the access to and sharing of personal and non-personal insurance-related data, usually via Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).

Open insurance APIs can be used for personal and non-personal data access, gathering and exchanging information throughout the insurance ecosystem.  Facilitating interaction between insurers, agents and brokers as well as third parties such as external claims managers or new service providers as well as for supervisory needs. Exact API functionalities as well as data sets that could be exchanged between different parties varies in practice (e.g. comparison tool provider versus re-insurer).
